EDUCATIONAL AND LANGUAGE TECHNOLOGY LABORATORY

The Educational and Language Technology (ELT) Group belongs to the Section of Computer Systems and Applications of the Faculty of Informatics and Telecommunications of the University of Athens.

Research activities of the laboratory focus on the development of virtual learning environments. More specifically, the research group has designed and implemented:

  • Web-based Personalised Learning Environments that support learner's navigation, orientation and study, reflective dialogue, assessment, communication and collaboration
  • Educational Software for Physics and History in Secondary Education, and Computer Architecture in Higher Education
  • Web-based courses delivering Interactive Multimedia educational material
  • Learning activities based on educational software, Logo-like environments, and the Web for Computer Science Education
  • Natural Language Processing Tools supporting morphological, semantic and general corpus analysis of Modern Greek Standard.

The ELT group has participated in 8 European and National research project during the last decade. The members of the group have more than 270 publications in journals and conference proceedings.
